White Konia Binchotan charcoal is a premium quality charcoal for barbecues and tabletop grills. It has a very high carbon percentage, which makes for an almost pure composition. Free from chemicals, it burns cleanly at a consistent temperature for up to five hours.
Binchotan is the charcoal of choice for Japanese barbecues. It is smokeless and odourless so it won\’t overwhelm the flavours of your food. For this reason, it is ideal for preserving the complex, delicate flavours of Japanese cuisine. Unlike other types of charcoal, it can be relit 2-3 times. How to light Binchotan charcoal:
Use a gas burner, which takes about 15 minutes. Alternatively, first make a burning bed of softer charcoal, such as Acacia charcoal. Place the Binchotan coals diagonally on the charcoal bed and let them burn.
