Description
Muslin cloth, also known as butter muslin or cheesecloth, is an unbleached, natural material making it ideal for use in the kitchen. Muslin is a finely-woven fabric often used when filtering stocks or consommes, making jellies or cheeses, or even filtering the sediment out of red wine and port before pouring it into a decanter. Muslin is also used to wrap meat during the curing process, as the fine, mesh-like fabric lets air in, but keeps insects out.
This enormous piece of muslin will last for ages, providing great value for money. Muslin is a reusable material if looked after properly. Rinse in cold water after using the cloth, and then machine wash with an unscented detergent. Muslin can be boiled to sterilize it.
The muslin cloth is folded for handy storage in a cupboard – it is 0.99m wide x 10m long.
